FREE VENUE FOR PARTIES
At a time when everyone is struggling with their finances, the Social Club is offering an alternative to the expense of hiring a venue for parties and other functions. Although the social club cannot generally be booked exclusively for private parties, for some time now it has successfully allowed members to hold their own events here, along side its regulars.
The Social Club is now extending that offer to the wider community and we hope that it will be of benefit to anyone looking for a welcoming, friendly venue - FREE OF CHARGE!

Essentially the Social Club is a members club and so members would be allowed entry to events that are held here, but we would hope that wouldn't deter you from considering hiring us as a venue.
We can assure you that this arrangement has proven extremely successful on many occasions in the past.
The Mulberry Christmas party is regularly held with us and local group Sneakers have in the past booked the club for a charity event to raise money for the Henry Ford Trust.

With the club comfortably able to hold up to 200 people, it can easily accommodate both its regulars as normal, as well as host parties and other group events.
The club has held Birthdays (excluding 18 and 21st), wakes, christenings, and other parties in the past and would happily consider requests for any new bookings, subject to available dates and the agreement of the committee.
The club has a well stocked bar with very reasonably priced drinks and whilst it cannot provide food for events, it is happy to allow catering to be done off of the premises and brought in.

BOOK THE SKITTLE ALLEY
We would welcome groups wishing to make use of the skittle alley, perhaps for a works night out or social gathering. Whilst we do have regular teams playing at the club, we will always try to arrange a suitable night when the alley is free.

SOCIAL GROUPS AND CLUBS
We would like to offer the use of the big screen TV to organisations or groups in the community. The projector can be linked to a video player, a DVD and even a laptop computer.
This means there is the opportunity to hold video presentations and lectures at the club. It also means there is the potential for organisations to stage fundraising events making use of the impressive screen - race nights and quiz nights for example. Please get in touch to discuss your needs.

EXCLUSIVE HALL HIRE
FOR CHARITIES OR WORTHWHILE ORGANISATIONS ONLY
We are currently exploring the possibility of offering the club to charities or worthwhile organisations for special fundraising events. These would be limited to one or two a year and on these occasions the organisation could have exclusive access to the club. This would allow them to have entry to their fundraiser by ticket only.
The provision would be that the Social Club members would be given the opportunity to purchase tickets to attend if they wished. Essentially a charity or organisation could stage an event and sell up to 225 tickets to raise their funds. As this would involve closing the club to its regulars any application for such an event would have to discussed in detail by the committee before a decision could be made, but you are welcome to approach us with any requests.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR UP AND COMING MUSICIANS
If you are a new band and keen to display your talent, we can offer you the chance to perform at the social club on one of our occasional Friday nights. We call them Showcase Nights, try out your sets and music in a professional environment. If you are happy to perform, there's the potential to gain valuable experience and get feedback. We'll help you advertise and attract your own audience. We would be able to advertise you on this website, include you in our entertainment advertising and create posters. We would also put together a page for you on our website, and would create links to your myspace and facebook page or to your website if you had one. We are a family friendly club and any performer must take this into consideration. We are always looking for great new bands to book and if we felt you'd suit our Saturday night guests, you may even get a paid booking. |
